The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
Certainly, it seems, anything is on the table as far as song selection goes. Interesting that they went with the SYSF>Tweezer one two punch to start the second set again. Like MSG, this couplet left me thinking “Why use SYSF as the short runway to lift off Tweezer, just tack on the time to explore the Tweezer more.”
Also the pairing of “emotional song” > SANTOS combo. Additionally, Caspian was poised for lift off and got a little extra attention again, though was quickly landed.
I don’t mind repeats, especially when they are bringing the exploration. Just another example of how you can only expect the unexpected. The band has to mix things up 40 years in, and, well, no one mixes it up better than these guys.
