buxtonbrown Sad that my favorite gem, 7/10/99 Chalkdust, didn't make the cut. Hands down nothing like it. Tight jam for about 8 minutes but you would never guess it was headed into something so magnificent. Around 10 minutes in, they move to something unreal. They never finish the chalkdust, but it doesn't matter. So moving.

I read a Relix interview with Trey a while back. When asked if he ever listened to Phish, he said no, but when he wanted to show someone what Phish was about, he would play this track. After all the years of going to shows and listening to tapes, I still think it might be one of the most inspired and concise jams of all time.
