Reminder: Phish.net Spac "Meetup" In Spa State Park On Saturday, July 7th!

Phish.net will be hosting a .netgathering at the Ferndell Pavilion in the Spa State Park all day Saturday, July 7 from early morning on!  Come on down and meet your online friends.  Admission is free and no reservations are required.

Here's a map of the Spa State Park with the Ferndell Pavilion and entrances marked (use the South Route 9 Park entrance, closest to I-87 Exit 13N, if you can).  There's ample parking next to the Pavilion and a short path to the back entrance of SPAC, so you won't have to move your car, and will have primo concert parking if you arrive early enough in the day.

The signs at the Park Gates and Ferndell Pavillion entrance will say "Mockingbird" (the official name of the fan charity that operates Phish.net, The Mockingbird Foundation).

We've rented a private picnic pavilion and will be having a cookout (bring potluck to share if you can), lawn games (bring volleyballs, etc. there's a net), an open jam with Mik Bondy and Kat Walkerson of The Garcia Project who will be doing a aftershow benefit for the Mockingbird Foundation late Friday night after Phish (bring instruments, we even have electricity for amps).  We'll also be handing out souvenir laminates and phish.net stickers free or (perferred!) for a small donation to the Mockingbird Foundation.  Pete Mason of Phanart will also be selling some poster art and stickers for the benefit of the Foundation, and Rob (@ Conphucius) is raffling off a Phish poster and/or a Junta vinyl set for the Foundation as well, more details here.  More information about the meetup on this forum thread.

Depending on when you arrive (we do suggest early to get best access and parking), you may have to pay an $8 or $10 "day use fee" (per car, not person) for the Park at the entrance gate.  Please also observe the "no alcohol in the Park" rule which will apply to the entire Park, including parking lots, for the entire Phish run weekend and be advised that when you enter the Park, your car will be "wanded" for alcohol and possibly searched if alcohol is detected.

Definitely! We'll sign 'em up on the spot. (j/k).

Because the site is somewhat small (100 - 150 people can fit comfortably), the State Park staff booked us into the Pavilion that's the most "remote" from where they'll be parking cars all day so we don't have the 25,000 ticketholders tramping through on their way to the shed, and why they suggested the public signs at the gates and picnic pavilion say "Mockingbird" rather than Phish.net (which some people will assume is connected with the band, a VIP area, and will want to "crash" ;) .

But, yeah, if you know about us from the web, or are coming with friends, you're cordially invited to come and hang out!
