THE PICTURE OF NECTAR VERSION OF TWEEZER  (Rvwd 11/94)

It occurred to me that I should probably put this
whole thread in context by reviewing a Tweezer that
all of you should have (far as I'm concerned, if you
have even ONE live tape of ANY Phish show, you are
obligated to get all of their CDs, if not for
yourself, at least for others).  I want to qualify
the following by saying that: 1) I love phish; 2) I
really just don't listen to Phish's CDs; 3) I think
Phish's studio work is great for studio work.  I just
don't like studio work when I have amazing *live*
shows available;  and, 4) I have better *live*
versions of everything on the studio CDs, except
Union Federal.  I short, I sortof-like the CD version
of Tweezer, but I can actually HEAR them holding back
during the jam, and everything is just so clean ...
sounds too planned.  Just doesn't move me.  And the
damn thing is so short (what.. less than 9 minutes,
right?).  I'd have to give it a 4.0 rating, even
though I really like the first minute or two of the
jam segment. The jam just doesn't go anywhere that is
risky.  At least one of you must disagree with me
here. (C)
