This is such a great show.  I actually enjoy it a lot
more than the ever popular, widely distributed
4/16-4/18 shows. A great Tweezer and a fantastic
MikeS Groove.  There's a weird jam of sorts in this
MikeS.  It sounds like a slow, off-key, distorted YEM
theme, a tease if you will, but otherwise not like
any tune I know (Phish or otherwise).  Anyway, the
MikeS is really hot;  Trey wails as he does in 4/19.
He doesn't merely do the typical off-key sustaining
crap.  It does not fit the "normal" MikeS progression
at all, really.  Well, the theme is still there, of
course, off and on, but this jam is much more hard
core, distorted, and genuinely rockin' moreso than
usual for MikeS (or when compared with 4/19/92,
even).  H2 kicks in at 7:26 or so.  Trey PICKS the
notes to this version in staccato form, to some
extent (not for the whole tune).  Otherwise, it is
the typical H2 you know and love.

Weekapaug comes in at 10:46.  There's a strong
opening by Mike, but it is not more outrageous than
usual (standard quick and snappy progression).  The
jam, however, opens magnificently.  Mike is very
prominent in this mix, btw.  Trey teases something
non-Phish that I should know, around 13:15, and stays
with this borrowed theme for a little while.  I don't
know where this tune is from;  it sounds vaguely
familiar.  I'm hoping one of you out there can name
it for everyone's benefit.  This jam segment is
great, as is Trey's work with this theme.  Having
Mike so prominent in the mix also gives this Groove a
boost, in my opinion.  At around 15:45, the band
briefly gets into a start/stop, relaxed mode, and
Mike severely teases the Linus and Lucy theme (at
about 16:20 or so).  The jam EXPLODES back into the
Weekapaug theme at 17 mins.  Everyone just wails it
out.  At 17:45, though, Trey teases Happy B-day, and
there's a Happy B-Day jam for "Eva and Mignon??" or
something, which is great, even though it only lasts
15 seconds or so. Immediately after this bday jam,
though, there is an incredibly intense finale jam for
about a minute that is ***STUPENDOUS***, and should
be heard by Everyone!   19:22 or so total time. 7.0
rating (B).
