Tammy Fletcher is a Burlington, VT, blues singer who fronts The Disciples. She performed with the band at The Flynn Theatre during the March 1997 benefit, in conjunction with Ben & Jerry’s, for the cleanup of Lake Champlain. According to reports, her participation was unplanned – she said Trey spotted her in the audience and plucked her out. She joined the band for “I Told You So” and “Love Me Like a Man.” Before jumping on the stage, she was kind enough to calm her date – “Don’t worry, Greg,” she shouted, “I’m a safe date, baby!” Fletcher has also performed with legends such as Taj Mahal, John Mayall, Buddy Guy, Edgar Winter and Leon Russell.
