    A founding member of the Burlington-based The Disciples, Stacy Starkweather has at various times been a member of Jazz Mandolin Project, Michael Ray’s “Northeast” Cosmic Krewe, Gordon Stone Trio, and his own project, Option Anxiety. Stacey was also the bass player – with Trey on guitar, Fishman on drums, and Jamie Masefield on mandolin – for the band Bad Hat that performed two short tours in 1994 and one show in 1996.
    Mike Gordon said of Option Anxiety's Every November CD: “I don't always like albums by bass players, but this one I do. Stacy was always a much more agile bass player than myself, so I've looked at him for inspiration and even for a few lessons a while back.” Strong praise, indeed.
    Along with Oteil Burbridge, Stacy sat in with Phish on 5/2/94 at the Five Points South Music Hall in Birmingham, AL for the second-set closing “Mike’s Groove.”
