    Scott Murawski is the self-taught guitarist and principal songwriter of one of the longest running (since the mid-70s) “jam bands” going, Max Creek. Scott sat in with Phish at Great Woods on 7/13/99 for the set-closing “Possum” and the encore of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Tuesday’s Gone.”
    While Scott made only this one appearance with Phish, he has collaborated with Mike Gordon on a wide range of projects. On 1/25/97 Scott and Mike (along with Gordon Stone and Greg DeGuglielmo) performed as “The Drop Caps” at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival. On 4/20/01 Mike performed in a gig billed as “Scott Murawski & Friends” at the Living Room in Providence, RI. Mike and Scott performed in Gary Gazaway’s band, “El Buho” in Austin, TX on 11/9/01 and 11/10/01, as well as at the “Jammin' for Salmon” event in New York City on 11/18/01. Most recently, Scott was the lead guitarist in Mike's Fall 2003 touring ensemble.
    Phish covered a Max Creek song, “Back Porch Boogie Blues,” in the early days. Phish also co-billed with Max Creek (as well as Third World) at Patrick Gym in Burlington on 11/11/89. Mike has made over a dozen guest appearances with Max Creek, including 7/30/95, 2/24/96, 4/30/97, 11/7/97, 11/8/97, 4/18/98, 1/28/00, 11/25/00, 7/28/02, 9/7/02, 1/24/03, 2/7/03, 8/31/03 and 9/5/03.
