James Harvey's appearances with Phish have been numerous. As a member of The Cosmic Country Horns, Harvey first played his trombone alongside Trey, Mike, Jon, and Page in 1994. His only appearance without the CCH came at The Flynn Theatre in Burlington on 3/18/97, where he joined Dave Grippo alongside Phish for “Waste,” “Character Zero,” “Slave,” and “Funky Bitch." Harvey has also been a part of side projects (Surrender to the Air, “New York,” Mike’s 2003 touring band ZYDN, a guest spot with Trey’s solo band on 6/15/02) and projects with which Phish members have played (The Sneakers Jazz Band and the Vermont Jazz All-Stars). Harvey has also performed with numerous other famous musicians, including Professor Longhair, Cecil Taylor, and Bobby Mcferrin. Please visit his website for more information.
